Building full radio coverage across an operating area with no cellular signal.
What Made It Hard
The operating area had no cellular signal at all, and its hilly contour left many points blocked from each other. The existing radio system worked only around the office area, leaving field crew coordination dependent on meeting face to face.
How We Handled It
A coverage survey set three repeater sites, each with backup power and lightning protection. Fleet and channel numbering followed the crew structure already in use on the ground rather than introducing a new one, so operators could use it without lengthy training.
